What are experience points

I have played the game for about a year and I’m not a newbi but I have two of my tasks this time around telling me to get experience points with no explaining how or what I need to get them

  Experience points are how you level, cooking and completing tasks earn you experience points along with other things you do in game. If you have tasks telling you to get experience points just play the game as usual and you will gain them. It doesn't specify what you need to do to gain them because it doesn't matter how you get them as long as you get them. Once you reach the amount the task tells you do you'll have completed that task. Any time you complete something and see the purple star pop up(there will also be a number such as +5 or +10 or something) showing how many experience points you've just earned you'll have gained experience.

  Refilling your fun items will give you experience pts. So before you click on challenge let them empty overnight. Parties earn lots of experience too.
