Convert Gold to Cash

Would it be possible to implement ... A mechanic where you can convert Gold to Cash? The rate can be high that would be fine like... 1 million to 1 cash or even higher. I think it would give the Gold currency a lot more meaning and would cost the devs not too much real life money.
